In 2019, Spot’s biggest challenge was actually quite positive—they completely outgrew their second floor space, forcing them to expand into third floor. With their expansion, Spot not only gained real estate for more employees but was intentional to highlight the building’s history and create a space with unique features—like a gym and mother’s room—to attract talent and continue to grow their millennial-driven employee pool.
Since Spot’s dedicated employees work hard and at all hours, they needed a variety of spaces to support how they work. On the third floor, various seating options promote productivity, collaboration, and connectivity. A handful of private offices, as well as conference rooms, booths, and high-top tables, provide meeting places for Spot’s active atmosphere, in addition to Frame One workstations.
On the third floor, employees also have access to a bowling alley within their new social hub. Throughout the space, Spot was mindful about their investment in lounge pieces, using Steelcase partner Blu Dot for furniture with a beautiful aesthetic but remains very hard-working and will stand the test of time. The funky fabrics and eclectic color palette throughout the space doesn’t just stop with furniture—Business Furniture provided turnkey services to bring walls to life with fabric panels.
Business Furniture’s A/V partner, Tech Your Wall, provided technology solutions from display screens to sound masking. Throughout the office, display screens feature new employees, share upcoming events, and celebrate sales wins.
Because of the volume of Spot’s order on both floors, we were able to provide competitive contract pricing—allowing Spot’s co-founders to be smarter with allocating dollars. Business Furniture reconfigured and repurposed existing pieces like workstation panels to reduce their project budget and support reuse.
